Dear donors, supporters and volunteers of Saint Paraskeva Orthodox Charity,
On behalf of our charity and the children in need of Romania, I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a blessed and joyous Christmas. Our commitment to bringing hope to the vulnerable children of Romania could not have been realized without the generous support of our donors and volunteers. This is the time to take a moment and give alms and thanks with a humble heart to Our Lord and to Saint Paraskeva for her continue intercessions and prayers that surrounded our charity and its mission.
2015 was one of the most productive years for our organization since its inception. This year our charity celebrated its 5th Anniversary with a fundraising gala event that exceeded our fundraising goals which will allow us to bring change and offer hope to the future generation. This is what the spirit of Christmas personifies, to share hope, love, peace and joy with those in need.
I am calling on you today, dear reader to continue the partnership with us so we may expand our efforts in bringing aid to the children of Romania, that very much needs us! Our love, compassion and commitment can change the course of the world for the better. Amidst the challenging and difficult economic times currently faced by the people of Romania, we have extend and grown our global operations yet the mission and future operational goals of Saint Paraskeva Orthodox Charity continues to focus on the most vulnerable of its people, the children.
During 2015 our charity has continued to raise awareness and to bring the voice of the most vulnerable segment of Romania’s population to a large and international audience. Our expertise, cultural and economic knowledge of the local context helps us gather the necessary resources that aid in responding to the struggling communities with orphans, who are socially and medically challenged. Our strategy is to partner with several Romanian monasteries due to their long standing dedication to caring for the needy and marginalized members of our society. We recognize the brave and humble mission taken on by the monastics to care for these orphans with their own limited resources. Therefore, we developed partnerships with them so as to help providing the means to financially support them to build as many orphanages are necessary within the proximity of monasteries and churches. Such dedicated efforts and prayers have aided in building a solid foundation in the lives of many orphans by restoring faith and hope for future generations of Romanian Orthodox Christians.
To exemplify I will use just two of our site projects: The Social Settlement from Rasca and Saint Onufrie Orphanage, Floresti. But beloved ones, there are many others places like these in Romania that are struggling and would like to help them and further develop.
Unfortunately our financial resources are still scarce given the local demands and consequently our response to the children’s needs is still limited. As we have grown our operations we are in great need of volunteers and donors to help us implement new partnerships expand our alliance and to strengthen and further develop these wonderful local projects.
Would you consider to come forward and be part of this vision?
Thank you once again to everyone who has supported our efforts this year. We look forward to our excellent collaboration with you in 2016.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Sincerely yours,
Mariana Cuceu, President
