About the cause
All profits from the tournament will go to Saint Paraskeva Orthodox Charity.
Have you ever thought about children in need of a meal, a home to be raised, and a school book to discover knowledge, or a new toy to replace the old broken one? All this little blessings will put a smile on their faces and is our Christian duty in Our Lord Jesus Christ to make this effort.
If you want to be part of fulfilling this duty, you can join our organization Saint Paraskeva Orthodox Charity to help raising funds for the poor children of Romania.
It is very easy and fun as we have the second edition of our Charity Tennis Tournament in Chicago on May 26-27. All proceedings from this event will be directed to the children we help in our programs.
Date : saturday May 26 between 9.00 am – 5.oo pm sunday May 27 between 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm Aditional date information: Memorial Day weekend
Location : Maine Township High School 1131 S Dee Rd, Park Ridge, (Dee & Devon)
Fees : 30$ each player
Registration Closing Date: Thursday May 24
This tournament is open to all players of all skill levels and is single only play
Format:
Two sets, regular scoring; Match tiebreaker for third if split (10 Points), Except for main draw finals. Third set is played out.

Updates on the Event
May 17 – There are 18 players registered to play in the tournament, and several others who have verbally confirmed. We have added Produce World, Dany’s Deli, Saravale Meat Market, Exchequer Restaurant&Pub and Little Bucharest Bistro to our list of Sponsors. Starbucks, Ace Hardware, Gino’s East of Chicago and Graziano’s Restaurant have offered In-Kind donations to the event. Spread the word !
May 15 - We have added the Sponsors Elly’s Pancake House, Dunkin Donuts, Plush Pup and Fresh Farms.
May 14 – We have added Phoenix Restaurant to our list of Sponsors. There are 5 players registered to play in the tournament, and several others who have verbally confirmed.
May 12 – We now have 13 people confirmed to attend the Event on Facebook. We are hoping to finalize a list of competitors within the next week, so please sign up for the tournament under the “Register now”’ tab as soon as possible if you wish to play. We have added Bluetone to our list of Sponsors. Lucky Grill Restaurant and D’Agostino’s Pizza and Pub have offered In-Kind donations to the event. Thank you for all your support !
May 10 – Jewel-Osco, Di Maggio Ristorante & Cafe have offered In-Kind donations to the event. Crest Automotive, INC. is now part of our Official Sponsors. We now have 12 people confirmed to attend the Event on Facebook and several others who have verbally confirmed.
May 9 -We have added the first Official Sponsors Compass Holding and Nelly’s Saloon Restaurant.
May 8 – Please note that all food and drink at The Saint Paraskeva Orthodox Charity will be free, though participants are strongly encouraged to donate towards the cause.
May 6 – The tournament committee met to discuss the possibility to bring more sponsors to the charity event.
May 5 - Check out the video we left on the Facebook Event homepage. We’d appreciate it if you could tell your friends about the Event!
May 4 – We now have the official flier and poster of the tournament courtesy of The Mail House. We will expand our advertising efforts more broadly over the next few weeks in hopes of bringing even more people to the Event.
May 3 – 11 people confirmed to attend the Event on Facebook. The official deadline for the tournament is May 24th, but we are hoping to receive registrations as soon as possible so we can gauge the number of participants and publish a competitors list on the site. Spread the word!
